Sailing

Ever since I've started sailing I have sailed the the optimist dinghy. I started in the RCYC junior club in the opti. My sister sailed the opti and now I have her handy down boat.



Last year I finished my second Canadians in Vancouver.The year before that I attended the Canadians in Lunenberg where I did very bad because there was a lot of wind and i was very light.

Last year I placed very well at the Canadians in Vancouver, I placed 12 in over all and 9 out of the Canadians. My high ranking in the Canadians led me to to the North American Championships in Bermuda. I'm very exited to go!






Even though I have I have accomplished so much in the opti its not the boat i would rather be sailing. The boat that I would rather be sailing in a skiff. It's like every little kid wanting to be a spy. I want to be hanging on the trapeze on a skiff one day in a 20 knot breeze.

I have sailed many skiff's before but last year I got the pleasure to sail with Peter Haywire and "BirdMan" (his crew). He took a video of our "journey" on his i14. Click here to watch the video.
