The End Of The Sailing Season

Me And My Sister In Nova Scotia After The Canadians
10 placks, 5 flags, 2 glass opti sails, 1 hat, 5 trophies and 6 wins... Well I think it has been a good year. As I finish up the last regatta of the year with a win I look back on all my achievements this year. I was pleased to win the Cornish Hen at RHYC for the second year in a row.

Mrs. Fohg Presenting Me The Trophy At Fogh Boorman

I was honoured to have won all three of the Royal Hamilton Optimist Regatta this year.I would like to thank Royal Hamilton Yacht Club and its large fleet of volunteers for its continued commitment to dingy racing.

I feel that my biggest achievement this season was winning 4th overall and top Canadian at Cork International. Having just over 90 boats on the start line, and some very serious competitors from not only Canada but the USA, Bermuda and Mexico made for some tough competition and conditions.

I had three amazing coaches this year who helped me and supported me through out the whole season. Peter Ehvert, who is a skiff sailor and a very good sailor over all was one of my coaches. Maddi Lot who is anther sailor who used to sail skiff was another one of my coaches this year. My third coach was Clare Hall. She is from the UK and coached the National Squad in the UK. She has taught me a lot this year and I would like to thank her for all the hard work she has done to help me get where I am. I would like to thank all my coaches for their support over the past season.

Sliding into the sailing season

As the skiing season came into a halting stop it is of course time to start the sailing season.Again I am sailing the Opitimist Dinghy like last year and a bunch of years before. The season has already started and I am sailing with the Royal Canadian Yacht Club in their Rep Team. I have already been out on the water multiple times. The head coach for the single headed boats is Chris Waters. He will be coaching me a bit I think. My other coaches are Peter Evert (an amazing sailing who has won a couple Canadians and is a amazing skiff sailor), Maddi Lott (a 49er FX sailor and a great sailor in general) and Kai Groves (another great sailor who used to sail with my sister). Between all my coaches I think that I will have a amazing year. This weekend we have a RCYC race team clinic. Its great because it gives us a chance to meet up with the team and ABYC is there also there. Today(Saturday) We just did some training but tomorrow we are doing some racing and I can't wait.

End of the year

Well it has been another great ski season. It was quite a journey that I very much enjoyed.
My Team

I made lots of new friends and have lots of new memories. It has been a journey that I will never forget.

Top of the mountain

We started off the season at SunPeaks which was a great experience.

It was so nice to get skiing on some great mountains before we had to worry about racing. After SunPeaks we got right into skiing. When we got to Collingwood there was great snow and we were out skiing before Christmas.
Click here to view my race results for the year. To sum it all up it was great year and I can't wait to kick butt next year.

Podborski Cup

Last week I went to the Podborski Cup at Craigleith. There was a 2 day camp and then one day of racing. The course was a really good course. It had a flat section with rollers, than a step down which you could get some air off of. Than it was the pitch with some gates and then a berm. And of course, to finish it off, the finish. I finished 42.
Here is the link to the results Podborski Cup
Here is a picture with Maddy Irwin, a Canadian National Ski team member who was really supportive of me and really helped me.

Here is another picture of me going over a really cool "step down" that was on the course.

I had a lot of fun and I would like to thank the people
who organized the race because they did
such a great job!
